The curd and sour substances are acidic in nature and when it react with the layer of copper and brass (it is basic in nature) It form salt as product in layer (greenish in colour),that salt isn't eatable.

Prabhjot Kaur 5 years, 2 months ago

This is because curd and sour substances are acidic themselves. If u kept them in copper and brass vessels they form some compounds which is not good for body

Paru ? 5 years, 2 months ago

Curd & sour substance are acidic in nature. Hence, if acidic substance are kept in copper or brass vessels, they react to form toxic compound and make the food unfit for consumption

Simple reason is it valency is 4. So it requires more energy to donate or take electrons which it can't afford.

Varun Kumar Barnwal 5 years, 2 months ago

The ionic compound can only perform by donating and gaining of electrons but the carbon (first tetravalent compound in Periodic table) has not sufficient proton (p^+ = 4 ) to stable the 8 electrons( gain 4 and complete octate) and it cannot donate also because it has 4 electrons to donate but due to high intermolecular force it cannot. So it only form covalent compounds by sharing electrons.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 2 months ago

The electronic configuration of carbon atom is 1s2 2s2 2px1 2py1 and has four valence electrons. In order to form ionic compound, it has to either lose four electrons or gain four electrons. Since very high energy are involved in doing so. Carbon does not form ionic compounds. It completes its octet by sharing of electrons and forms covalent compounds.

SKY BLUE KYU HOTE HAI , OUR ATMOSPHERE IS MADE UP OF VERY TINY PARTICLES , IT CONTAIN 78% OF NITROGEN AND 21% OXYGEN , THE RAY OF SUN WHICH PASSES THROUGH THE ATMOSPHERE WHICH CONTAIN ALL SEVEN COLOUR BUT THE THREE OF THEM(VOILET , INDIGO AND BLUE) ARE SCATTERED ON ATMOSPHERE BECAUSE OF SHORT WAVELENGTH .THE VOILET AND INDIGO HAS SMALLEST WAVE LENGTH , BOTH SCATTER ON THE TOPEST LAYER OF ATMOSPHERE AND ONLY BLUE ARRIVE TO OUR EYES.

Ansh Dwivedi 5 years, 2 months ago

(VIBGYOR) by this you can refer that vilot, indigo and blue have less wavelength . And sun is nearer to our earth so because of this atmosphere can't refract much amount of light in day time. And same happens with sunset and surise time red has greater wavelength than blue and any other colour . That time sun is far from us because of that all colour refract only red color don't refract by this you can say that in sunrise and sunset time the sky is red

Bhavesh Singh Panwar 5 years, 2 months ago

Because, In sky there is small particle present , and blue colour is scattered in small particle . We know that white colour is made up of seven colour VIBGYOR . ;Therefore colour of sky blue during day time.

An optical fiber is a flexible, transparent fibermade by drawing glass (silica) or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of a human hair. ... Optical fibers typically include a core surrounded by a transparent cladding material with a lower index of refraction.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago

Optical fiber is the technology associated with data transmission using light pulses travelling along with a long fiber which is usually made of plastic or glass. Metal wires are preferred for transmission in optical fiber communication as signals travel with fewer damages. Optical fibers are also unaffected by electromagnetic interference. The fiber optical cable uses the application of total internal reflection of light. The fibers are designed such that they facilitate the propagation of light along with the optical fiber depending on the requirement of power and distance of transmission. Single-mode fiber is used for long-distance transmission, while multimode fiber is used for shorter distances. The outer cladding of these fibers needs better protection than metal wires.

Ordinary light is a mixture of electromagnetic waves of different wavelengths. ... Ordinary light is non-directional and inconsistent, whilelaser light shows directional and highly consistent distribution. This is themain difference between ordinary light and laser light.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago

Ordinary light is divergent and incoherent whereas laser light is highly directional and coherent.

Ordinary light is mostly unpolarized whereas light from a laser is polarized.

Ordinary light is polychromatic ( contains all colors of light) whereas light from a laser is monochromatic.

Unlike stars, planets don't twinkle. Stars are so distant that they appear as pinpoints of light in the night sky, even when viewed through a telescope. Because all the light is coming from a single point, its path is highly susceptible to atmospheric interference (i.e. their light is easily diffracted).
Planets are not a source of light. Instead, they reflect low intensity light reaching them. They are also closer to the Earth than the distant stars. Hence, the shift due to atmospheric refraction is smaller. As the planets are closer, planets appear larger in comparison to the stars. Hence, the shift is not enough for the planets to twinkle... hope it would be helpful✌?

Anmol Genius 5 years, 2 months ago

Because they are so large that the refraction of there rays cancle out each other and we see a beam of light

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 2 months ago

Planets do not twinkle because:1. Planets are not a source of light. Instead, they reflect low intensity light reaching them. 2. They are also closer to the Earth than the distant stars. Hence, the shift due to atmospheric refraction is smaller.3. As the planets are closer, planets appear larger in comparison to the stars. Hence, the shift is not enough for the planets to twinkle. Twinkling occurs because the apparent position of a heavenly body is not fixed because the light through them is refracted through the atmosphere. Planets appear larger to human eyes as compared to stars because they are closer. As the angle subtended by the planets at the human eye is more, the shift in their position(as compared to stars) is smaller. Since, the shift is smaller, they do not twinkle.

the damage of the ozone layer has been given a great concern because it is the only filter that we have for our earth which filters the ultraviolet rays from the sun which can damage a human in many ways such as skin cancer ,eye disease and also neurophobia etc .so it can be prevented in many ways such as -riding cycles ,and also by controlling the pollution or the smoke coming from the industries infront of petrol vehicles we can use electric vehicles so thats all i hope this answer will help you.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 2 months ago

Ozone layer protects us from Sun’s harmful UV radiations. It shields the surface of the earth from ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the Sun. This radiation is highly damaging to organisms, for example, it is known to cause skin cancer in human beings.
There is increased concern about the effect of ozone depletion. The depletion of ozone causes the harmful UV rays to reach the earth and this has resulted in increased incidence of skin cancers in humans. UV rays may also cause genetic mutations in living organisms.

To limit the damage to the ozone layer, the release of CFCs into the atmosphere must be reduced. CFCs used as refrigerants and in fire extinguishers should be replaced with environmentally-safe alternatives. Also, the release of CFCs through industrial activities should be controlled.

Mendel selected garden pea plant for his experiments because of the following characteristics:

(i) The flowers of this plant are bisexual.

(ii) They are self-pollinating, and thus, self and cross pollination can easily be performed.

(iii) The different physical characteristics were easy to recognise and study.

(iv) They have a shorter life span and are the plants are easier to maintain.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 2 months ago

The water of crystallization means having a fixed number of molecules present in one formula of a unit of salt. Crystal salts with water of crystallization are known as hydrates. The other names of water crystallization are crystallization water or water of hydration.

The water of crystallization is caused by forming purified crystals from an aqueous solution. These crystals do not include contaminants. These crystals are easily affected by the heat.

Examples of water of crystallization are proteins with more than 50% of the water of crystallization and copper sulfate pentahydrate with five molecules of water of crystallization.

The preserved remains of animals or plants or other organisms from the distant past are called fossils. These fossils tell us about many extinct animals and also give insights into how the evolution could have taken place.

Evolution is the successive alteration in inherited characteristics over an extensive span of time, typically over generations.

  • Evolution relies on genetic variation in a population which affects the physical characteristics of an organism. Certain physical characteristics may give advantage to the individuals which can be transferred to their offspring.
  • The evidence of evolution is one of the fundamental keystones of modern biological theory. It is the only way which can prove all the proposed theories of evolution.
  • We have a number of evidences to prove the biological evolution namely fossils, comparative anatomy and embryo development pattern.

Physical properties of metal

  • Metals are solid except mercury that is found in liquid state at room temperature.
  • They are hard and tough except sodium and potassium that can be cut with a knife.
  • They are lustrous i.e. they shine in light because metals possess free electrons that vibrates on getting in contact with light.
  • They have high melting points except caesium and gallium have very low melting point.
  • They are good conductors of heat and electricity. The best conductors of electricity are silver and copper whereas lead and mercury are comparatively poor conductors.

Physical properties of non-metals

  • Non-metals may be either solids, liquids or gases.
  • Solid non-metals are brittle and break down into powdery mass on striking with a hammer except diamond which is the hardest non-metal.
  • They have a dull luster but iodine is lustorous.
  • They have low melting points except diamond that has very high melting point.
  • They are poor conductors of heat and electricity except graphite.
  • They are not malleable.
  • They are not ductile.
  • They are not sonorous.
  • Examples are carbon, Sulphur, oxygen, phosphorous and many more.
