In water, that is H2O, there are 2atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen in a molecule of water. Thus upon electrolysis, water molecules break into hydrogen and oxygen. Thus one molecule of water gives 2 hydrogens and only 1 oxygen. Thus, the amount of hydrogen gas collected is always double in amount compared to the oxygen gas collected from electrolysis of water.

- A coil with many circular close turns of insulated copper wire (like a cylinder as shown above) is a solenoid.
- One end of such a solenoid behaves like the north pole and the other as a south pole.
- Therefore magnetic field due to current in the solenoid is similar to a bar magnet. The fields always emerge out of the North pole and always merge into the South pole
- The field inside the solenoid is uniform.

Gypsum is calcium sulphate dihydrate. The chemical formula of gypsum is CaSO4·2H2O. Plaster of Paris is prepared by heating gypsum to a temperature of 373K. When gypsum is heated to a temperature of 373k ,It loses three-Fourths of its water of crystallisation and forms Plaster of Paris.

The primary male reproductive organ is a pair of testes. The testes lies in small sac like muscular structure outside the abdominal cavity called *******. ******* provides an optimal temperature for formation of sperm. This temperature is 1-3oC lower than the temperature of the body. The function of testes is to produce sperms and the male hormone (testosterone). Testes form sperms throughout the reproductive life (puberty stage onwards) of man. From each of the testis arises a long tube called vas deferens. It unites with a duct coming from the urinary bladder to form a common tube called urethra. The urethra is enclosed within a thick muscular organ, called *****, and opens to the outside through a male genital pore. There is only one opening for the urine and sperms.

IUCD( Intrautrine devices) - These devices are plastic or metal objects placed in the uterus of the female by a doctor. These may be categorized as non- medicated IUDs (Lippes loop), copper releasing IUDs (Cu T, Cu 7) and the hormone releasing IUDs (Progestasert, LNG- 20), dalcon shield. Diaphragam- It is soft, cup shaped rubber device being used by women to cover entrance to the uterus. It is smeared with spermicide before use. It is considered reliable as there are no dangerous side effects and it prevents sperms reaching the egg.It is a type of mechanical barrier. So, the correct answer is 'Diaphragm'.

A trophic level is the group of organisms within an ecosystem which occupy the same level in a food chain. There are five main trophic levels within a food chain, each of which differs in its nutritional relationship with the primary energy source. The primary energy source in any ecosystem is the Sun (although there are exceptions in deep sea ecosystems).

- Food web is a network of food chains where all the chains are naturally interconnected.
- Each organism is generally eaten by two or more kinds or organisms which are again eaten by several other organisms and so instead of straight line food chain, the series of organisms dependent on one another food can be shown by branched lines which is called as a food web.
- Flow of energy in a food chain is unidirectional, once it reaches the next tropic level it does not come back again.
- For example- energy which passes to the herbivores does not come back again to autotrophs.

Non-biodegradable substances do not break down or dissolve for many years. Because of that, they can be recycled and reused. So, instead of throwing wastes in the garbage, it can be dumped in a proper recycling place making it useful for other purposes.

Apparent flattening of the sun’s disc at sunrise and sunset is due to atmospheric refraction. The density and the refractive index of the atmosphere decreases with altitude, so the rays above and below the sun on the horizon are refracted by different degrees. This causes the apparent flattening of the sun. But the rays from the sides of the sun on a horizontal plane are generally refracted by the same amount, hence the sun still appears circular along its sides.
Meghna Thapar 5 years, 1 month ago
The rays of light from the bottom of the sun are refracting more than those from the top, flattening the sun's circular shape. “Flattened sun” can also refer to the Sun appearing in an oval shape close to the horizon during sunrise or sunset. The lower half of the sun appears darker in colour than the top half. At sunrise and sunset, the sun is near the horizon. The rays of light from the upper part and lower part of the periphery of the sun bend unequally on travelling through earth's atmosphere. That is why the sun appears oval or flattened at the time of sunrise and sunset.

Vegetative propagation is practiced for growing some types of plants because of the following advantages: It helps to introduce plants in new areas where seed germination fails to produce mature plants due to changes in environmental factors and the soil. It is a more rapid, easier, and cheaper method.
Vegetative propagation methods include: • rooting of cuttings, • layering or marcotting, • grafting, • micropropagation. Propagation is the natural mechanism by which plants regenerate. Propagation by seeds is the main method by which plants reproduce in nature.
