In tall plants, it is nearly impossible to bring water to the apical area through upward conduction by root pressure alone (it takes a long time). In such cases, transpiration plays the key role. As water is lost from the plant through transpiration especially during summers, naturally changes occur in the plant such that a particular form of suction force is produced which literally SUCKS the water up the xylem so that it reaches the topmost region. This is known as COHESIVE FORCE.

How do you know I don't have any knowledge?

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

I use a common pattern of answering a question. My teachers have taught me that righting a heading (1/2) and a one line explanation (1/2) assures me a 1 mark. If I write three points so, I would get three points. Try that method. It might help you later. And SURPRISINGLY, I have never seen that pattern used in google.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

And, please give me an example of an answer, according to you, I had taken from google. At least, one.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

Never. I depend mainly on the text. I also read a lot. Please don't misunderstand my interests. This platform helps me to give myself a self assessment based on your reactions. I don't use the google much. I am a student. And I would remain a student, always.

If unit potential is applied between two end of conductor and unit ampere current is flowing in the circuit. Then the resistance of conductor would be 1 ohm.

Pankaj Kumar Patel 4 years, 4 months ago

When conductor is said to be 1 ohm of the potential difference 1volt across the conductor make 1 ampere of current to pass through it

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

The SI unit of resistance is ohm. The resistance of a conductor is said to be 1 ohm if 1 V of potential difference makes a current of 1 A flow through it. ie, 1 ohm = 1 V / 1 A.

The work done to carry unit positive charge from one point to another point in electric field is called electrical potential difference .The potential difference is measured by voltmeter.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

The potential difference between two points is defined as the amount of work done in moving unit charge from one point to another ie, V = W/Q. (where, V is potential difference, W is work done and Q is the charge.)

It is the series of compounds in which one compound differs from the other by CH2 unit.if the compounds posses same functional group then homologous series is defined as the series of compounds in which the same functional group substitutes for the hydrogen in the carbon chain.the homologous series differs by CH2 or 14 amu (atomic mass unit) as the molecular mass increases in homologous series there is change in the physical properties which include density, melting and boiling point

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

Homologous series is a series of hydrocarbons in the increasing order of carbon atoms such that each preceding member exceeds the succeeding member by a CH2 unit and 14 a.m.u. They have similar methods of preparation, similar chemical properties and slightly dissimilar physical properties. Eg :- Alkanes (CnH2n+1) = Methane (CH4), Ethane (C2H6), Propane (C3H8), etc.

In exothermic heat is released whereas in endothermic heat is absorbed

Pankaj Kumar Patel 4 years, 4 months ago

Reaction which produce heat are called exothermic reactions . For example All combination reaction are known as exothermic reactions. Reaction in which absorb heat are called endothermic reactions.for examples all decomposition reaction are known as endothermic reactions.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

Reaction which involve release of heat are called exothermic reactions. All combination reactions are considered to be exothermic in nature. Eg :- C (s) + O2 (g) ----> CO2 (g) + Δ. Reactions which involve absorption of heat are called endothermic reactions. All decomposition reactions are considered to be endothermic in nature. Eg :- NaHCO3 (s) --Δ--> Na2CO3 (aq) + H2O (l) + CO2 (g).

Reflection Refraction
This phenomenon usually occurs in mirrors. This phenomenon usually occurs in Lenses.
Reflection can simply be defined as the reflection of light when it strikes the medium on a plane. Refraction can be defined as the process of the shift of light when it passes through a medium leading to the bending of light.
The light entering the medium returns to the same direction. The light entering the medium travels from one medium to another.
Considering the light waves, they bounce from the plane and change direction. The light waves pass through the surface while simultaneously change from medium to medium.
The angle of incidence of the light is equal to the angle of reflection. The angle of incidence is not equal to the angle of reflection.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

REFLECTION = phenomenon of bouncing back of light to the same medium after striking a surface. Occurs in the case of MIRRORS. No dependence on optical density of a medium. REFRACTION = phenomenon of bending of light rays as they move obliquely from one medium to another with different optical densities. Occurs in the case of lenses. Depends on optical density of the pair of media.

The lymphatic structure is based on that of blood vessels.Lymph (or lymphatic ) vessels are thin-walled valved structures that carry lymph. Lymph vessels are lined by endothelial cells and have a thin layer of smooth muscles and adventitia that bind the lymph vessels to the surrounding tissue. Valves prevent backwards flow of lymph fluid, which allows the lymphatic system to function without a central pump.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

It is an extracellular fluid which, thugh looks like plasma, has lesser proteins than in plasma. Yes. There are specialised vessels for lymph known as LYMPH NODES. It is part of a seperate system known as LYMPHATIC SYSTEM. It is responsible for absorption and transportation of digested fats and drains fluids in intercellular spaces back to blood.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 4 months ago

Salts formed on neutralisation reaction between a strong acid and weak base is always ACIDIC in nature ie, pH = 0 - 7. Salt formed on neutralisation reaction between a strong acid and a strong base is NEUTRAL in nature ie, pH = around 7. Salt formed on neutralisation reaction between a weak acid and a strong base is BASIC in nature ie, pH = 7 - 14.

Jasleen Gill 4 years, 4 months ago
