Nature of Light Light behaves as a: ray, e.g. reflection wave, e.g. interference and diffraction particle, e.g. photoelectric effect Laws of Reflection Light incident on another medium When light travels from one medium to another medium it either: gets absorbed (absorption) bounces back (reflection) passes through or bends (refraction) When light is incident on a plane mirror, most of it gets reflected, and some of it gets absorbed in the medium.

Somay Mamgain 3 years, 10 months ago

Light: Definition Light is a form of energy that enables us to see things. Light starts from a source and bounces off objects which are perceived by our eyes and our brain processes this signal, which eventually enables us to see.

The concentration of OH- ions will increase

Divyanshi Saxena 3 years, 10 months ago

The concentration of OH- ions will likely increase if more sodium hydroxide is added to the base since the concentration of the solution will increase (the number of hydroxide ions per unit volume increases). But this will only happen when sodium hydroxide is dissolved in water. Otherwise the concentration will remain same. Hence the answer is (A) the concentration of OH- ions increase

When light strikes colloidal particles , its path becomes visible . This is called scattering of light. For example - the path of sunlight becomes visible through the canopy of a dense forest because mist present in the atmosphere scatters it.

f=-10cm u=-15cm By using mirror's formula, = 1/f=1/v+1/u = 1/-10=1/v+1/-15 = 1/v=1/-10-(1/-15) = 1/v=-1/30 Therefore, v=-30cm

Ragini Kumari 3 years, 10 months ago

Object distance u = -15cm Focal length f = - 10cm Find = image distance v Solution Write formula 1\v -1\u =1\f So 1\v = 1\f + 1\u 1\v = 1\(-10) +1\(-15) 1\v = 1\-10 - 1\15 1\v = -3-2\30 1\v = -5\30 1\v = -1\6 1\v = -6 The negative signs shows that an inverted image is generated at a distance of 6cm front of tbe given concave mirror.

Refraction is the change in direction of light when it passes from one medium to another. The working of lense is based on the refraction light when they pass through it. A lens is a transparent material bound by two surfaces, of which one or both surfaces are spherical. It implies that a lens is bound by at least ine spherical surface. The other surface of such lenses would be plane. A lens May have two spherical surfaces, blug ging outwards.
