Let digits are x and x+3

Number with x at 10th place=10x+x+3=11x+3

On reversing the digits number=10(x+3)+x=11x+30

So 7( 11x+3)=4(11x+30)

77x+21=44x+120

33x=120-21=99

x=3

so Numbers are 36 and 63

Let age of son one yr ago be x
age of man one yr ago be 8x
.....
age of son after one year = x+1
age of man after one year = 8x+1
....
now accordind to question..
8x+1= (x+1)^2
8x+1=x^2 + 1 +2x
after solving
8x = x^2 +2x
now...x^2 - 6x=0
solving this we get ...x=0 and x = 6 but
age cant be zero...so..x=6...
age of son is x+1 = 7 years
and age of man be 8x+1= 49

Let us take an A.P of terms a, b, c
The arithmetic mean is b

Here,
a= x + 2
b= 2x
c= 2x + 3
On substituting the values in the formula we get :
2x=x+2+2x+3/2
2x=3x+5/2
4x=3x+5
X=5
Hence the value of x is 5
