26 and 91
26= 2 × 13
91 = 7 × 13
HCF = 13
LCM = 2 × 7 × 13 = 182
Product of two numbers 26 and 91 = 26 × 91 = 2366
HCF × LCM = 13 × 182 = 2366
Hence, product of two numbers = HCF × LCM

A number is called irrational if it cannot be expressed in the form p/q where p and q are integers ( q> 0).
Example : √3,√2,√5,p etc.
They have non-terminating and non-repeating decimal expression
The sum, difference, multiplication and division of irrational numbers are not always irrational. Irrational numbers do not satisfy the closure property under addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Irfan Khan 6 years, 9 months ago

The number that can not be write in the form of p/q, where q is not equal to 0 are called irrational number.

The perimeter of a right-angled triangle = 40 cm

Substituting the value of a =15, in equation (i) we get:

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 9 months ago

Semiperimeter (s) = (42 + 34 + 20 ) / 2
So it is = 96 / 2 = 48 cm.

Using herons formula = (√s )(√s-a )(√s-b) (√s-c)
By  substituting s and a , b , c   i.e  the given sides.
We have √48 × √6 × √14 × √28
So √ (4 × 6 × 2) × √6 × √(7 × 2) × √(7 × 4)
Simplifying the numbers we have area = 4 × 6 × 2 × 7 = 336 cm ²
Hence area is 336 cm²

Now height corresponding to longest side implies that base is 42 cm and area remains same

So area of triangle is  1/ 2 b × h
336 = 1/ 2 ×  42 × H
HENCE H = 16 cm

So height is 16 cm .

5x2 - 6x - 2 = 0
Multiplying the above equation by 1/5
{tex} \Rightarrow {x^2} - \frac{6}{5}x - \frac{2}{5} = 0{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x ^ { 2 } - \frac { 6 } { 5 } x + \left( \frac { 3 } { 5 } \right) ^ { 2 } - \left( \frac { 3 } { 5 } \right) ^ { 2 } - \frac { 2 } { 5 } = 0{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow \left( x - \frac { 3 } { 5 } \right) ^ { 2 } = \frac { 9 } { 25 } + \frac { 2 } { 5 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow \left( x - \frac { 3 } { 5 } \right) ^ { 2 } = \frac { 9 + 10 } { 25 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow \left( x - \frac { 3 } { 5 } \right) ^ { 2 } = \frac { 19 } { 25 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x - \frac { 3 } { 5 } = \pm \frac { \sqrt { 19 } } { 5 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x = \frac { 3 } { 5 } \pm \frac { \sqrt { 19 } } { 5 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x = \frac { 3 + \sqrt { 19 } } { 5 } \text { or } x = \frac { 3 - \sqrt { 19 } } { 5 }{/tex}

X² + 7/2x + 3/4 = 0
⇒x² + 7/2x = -3/4
⇒x² + 7/2x + (7/4)² = -3/4 + (7/4)²
⇒ x² + 2.(7/4).x + (7/4)² = -3/4 + 49/16
⇒(x + 7/4)² = (-12 + 49)/16
⇒(x + 7/4)² = 37/16
Taking square root both sides,
⇒x + 7/4 = ± √37/4
⇒ x = -7/4 ± √37/4

Hence, roots are (-7 + √37)/4 and (-7 - √37)/4

Now , some of roots = -coefficient of x/Coefficient of x²
= -(7/2)/1 = -7/2
and { (-7 + √37) + (-7 - √37)}/4 = -7/2

Also product of roots = constant/Coefficient of x² = 3/4
And {-7+√37}{-7-√37}/16 = {7² - √37²}/16 = 12/16 = 3/4

You can see both sum of roots and products are verified above explanation.

let the no. be  x and x+1
  then we have x²+(x+1)²=365
                     2x²+2x-364=0
                     x²+x-182=0
                     x²+14x-13x-182=0
                     (x+14)(x-13)=0
      That gives x=13 Avoiding negative value
      Hence, one number is 13 and other one 14.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 9 months ago

Let two consecutive positive integer be x and x + 1.
According to question
x2 + (x + 1)2 = 365
⇒  x2 + x2 + 2x + 1 = 365
⇒  2x2 + 2x - 364 = 0
⇒   x2 + x - 182 = 0
Let us split middle term
x2 + 14x - 13x - 182 = 0
⇒   (x + 14) (x - 13) = 0
x = -14 or x = 13 [ - ve root being rejected ]
Hence required numbers are 13 and 14

The line that joins two infinitely close points from a point on the circle is a Tangent. In other words, we can say that the lines that intersect the circles exactly in one single point are Tangents. Point of tangency is the point where the tangent touches the circle. At the point of tangency, a tangent is perpendicular to the radius.

Two numbers are said to be co-prime if their H.C. F is 1.
 a and b are co-prime numbers Þ HCF (a, b) = 1
 Factors of a2 = 1, a and a2
 Factor of b2 = 1, b and b2.
 HCF (a2, b2) = 1
Therefore, the number a2, b2 are said to be co-prime numbers.
