The AP from the last: -40, -37, -34,..........., 17
a= 17.
d= a2 - a1
= -37-(-40)
= -37+40= 3
a6= ?
an= a+(n-1)d
a6= -40+(6-1) (3)
a6= -40+5(3)
a6= -40+15
a6= -25.

Therefore, the 6th term of the AP is -25.
