4s^2 -4s+1 =4s^2-2s-2s+1 =2s(2s-1)-1(2s-1) =(2s-1)(2s-1) S=1/2

Lovish Yadav 6 years ago

4s²-4s+1 [4s²-2s-2s+1] [4s²-2s]-[2s+1] 4s(2s-1)-1(2s-1) (4s-1)(2s-1) When 4s-1=0 4s=1 S=1/4, Or 2s-1=0 2s=1 S=1/2

A is on y axis and it's ordinate is 5
So coordinates of A is (0,5)
and coordinates of B is (-3,1)

Length of AB can be found out by using the distance formula

= √【(x1 -x2)^2 + (y1 -y2)^2】
= √【(-3-0)^2 + (1-5)^2】
=√【9 + 16】
=√25
=5
So length of AB is 5 units.

A(8, -9)

B(2, 3)

Here p divides the line segment joining point A(8, -9)

B(2, 3)

A(8, -9) lies on the 4 quadrant

And b point lies on the 1 st quadrant

We can get the division of point p by section formula

If AP:BP =1:2

Then the coordinates of p =

X = 8×2+2×1/2+1=6

Y=-9×2+3×1/2+1= -5

& (+, -) lies on 4th quadrant

Hence it will lie on the 4th quadrant

The value of k must be less than or equal to 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given quadratic equation is

x2+4x+k=0

A quadratic equation ax2+bx+c=0 has real roots if

{tex}b^2-4ac\geq 0{/tex}

We have,

a=1,b=4,c=k

{tex}(4)^2-4(1)(k)\geq 0{/tex}

{tex}16-4k\geq 0{/tex}

{tex}16\geq 4k{/tex}

Divide both sides by 4.

{tex}4\geq k{/tex}

Therefore the value of k must be less than or equal to 4.
