Shubham Kumar 5 years, 1 month ago

Here your answer goes Step :-1 Take one equation from the two equations and represent it in the form of x and y by replacing 7x - 15y = 2----- > 1 x + 2y = 3------- > 2 Take equation 2 x = 3 - 2y ------>> 3 Step :- 2 Now , Substitute the value of x in equation 1 7 ( 3 - 2y ) - 15 = 2 21 - 14y - 15y = 2 21 - 29y = 2 -29y = 21 - 2 y = 29/19  Step :- 3 Put the obtained value of y in equation 3 x = 3 - 2yx=3−2y x = 29/49 Hope you like this answer

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

We know that the largest 5 digit number is 99999.

So here we can see that 99999 is not a perfect square as it leaves 143 as the remainder while finding it s square root.

So for finding 5 digit perfect square we will have to subtract 143 from 99999

=> 99999-143 = 99856

Hence 99856 is a perfect square whose square root is √99856 = 316.

In figure, a circle touches all the four sides of a quadrilateral ABCD/ whose sides AB = 6 cm, BC = 7 cm and CD = 4 cm. Find AD.

<hr />

Since, length of two tangents drawn from an external point of circle are equal.
So,    AP = AS
BP = BQ DR = DS
and    RC = CQ
Adding all, we get
(AP + BP) + (DR + RC) = AS + BQ + DS + CQ
⇒ (AP + BP) + (DR + RC)
= (AS + DS) + (BQ + CQ)
⇒    AB + DC = AD + BC
⇒    6 + 4 = AD + 7
⇒    10 = AD + 7
AD = 10 – 7 = 3 cm
Hence, AD = 3 cm.

Given, the capacity of 1st tank =850 liters

And the capacity of 2nd tank= 680 liters

Now, the maximum capacity of a container which can measure the kerosene oil of both the

tankers when used an exact no.of times = HCF of 850 and 680

850 = 2 * 5 * 5  * 17

680 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 * 17

HCF(850, 680) = 2 * 5 * 17 = 170

Hence, the container which can measure petrol of either tank exactly must be of 170

liters.

We have been given, x2 - 2x + 1 = 0

Now we also know that for an equation ax2 + bx + c = 0, the discriminant is given by the following equation:

D = b2 - 4ac

Now, according to the equation given to us, we have,a = 1, b = -2 and c = 1.

Therefore, the discriminant is given as,

D = (-2)2 - 4(1)(1)

= 4 - 4

= 0

Since, in order for a quadratic equation to have real roots, D ≥ 0.Here we find that the equation satisfies this condition, hence it has real and equal roots.

Now, the roots of an equation is given by the following equation,

x=-b± underroot D / 2a

Therefore, the roots of the equation are given as follows,

x=-(-2)±0 / 2(1)

=2 / 2

= 1

Therefore, the roots of the equation are real and equal and its value is 1.

2. A tree breaks due to storm and the broken part bends so that the top of the tree touches the ground making an angle 30° with it. The distance between the foot of the tree to the point where the top touches the ground is 8 m. Find the height of the tree.

Solution:

Using given instructions, draw a figure. Let AC be the broken part of the tree. Angle C = 30°

BC = 8 m

To Find: Height of the tree, which is AB

From figure: Total height of the tree is the sum of AB and AC i.e. AB+AC

In right ΔABC,

Using Cosine and tangent angles,

cos 30° = BC/AC

We know that, cos 30° = √3/2

√3/2 = 8/AC

AC = 16/√3 …(1)

Also,

tan 30° = AB/BC

1/√3 = AB/8

AB = 8/√3 ….(2)

Therefore, total height of the tree = AB + AC = 16/√3 + 8/√3 = 24/√3 = 8√3 m.

(iv) Meena went to a bank to withdraw Rs.2000. She asked the cashier to give her Rs.50 and Rs.100 notes only. Meena got 25 notes in all. Find how many notes of Rs.50 and Rs.100 she received.

Solution:

Let the number of Rs.50 notes be A and the number of Rs.100 notes be B

According to the given information,

A + B = 25 ……………………………………………………………………….. (i)

50A + 100B = 2000 ………………………………………………………………(ii)

When equation (i) is multiplied with (ii) we get,

50A + 50B = 1250 …………………………………………………………………..(iii)

Subtracting the equation (iii) from the equation (ii) we get,

50B = 750

B = 15

Substituting in the equation (i) we get,

A = 10

Hence, Manna has 10 notes of Rs.50 and 15 notes of Rs.100.
