in triangle PQT, RN is parallel to PQ hence TN/NQ = TR/RP. Similarly in triangle SPT, MR parallel to SP and therefor TR/RP = TM/MS. this implies TN/NQ = TM/MS . with this consider triangle TSQ. MN now must be parallel to SQ as it cuts sides TS and TQ in same ratio. Property used is that in a triangle, line parallel to base cuts the two other sides in same ratio.

Let's take 23.426 (repeating on 426) as x. Three digits are 1000x - x = 23426.426... - 23.426… 999x = 23403 x = 23403 / 999 in p/q form
