The sample space of an experiment is the set of all possible outcomes. The complete list of all possible outcomes of a random experiment is sample space of the experiment. If the experiment is tossing a coin, the sample space is the set {head, tail}. If the experiment is tossing a die, the sample space is {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.

Let n be 1 Sn = 6(1)- 12 = 6-12=-6 ( 1st term ) Let n be 2 Sn = 6(2) - 12 = 12-12= 0 2nd term = sum of second tetm - sum of 1st term = 12- - 6 = 12+6 = 18( 2nd term) So common difference = 18 -(-6) = 18 + 6 = 24

Let n = 4q + 1 (an odd integer)
{tex}\therefore \quad n ^ { 2 } - 1 = ( 4 q + 1 ) ^ { 2 } - 1{/tex}
{tex}= 16 q ^ { 2 } + 1 + 8 q - 1 \quad \text { Using Identity } ( a + b ) ^ { 2 } = a ^ { 2 } + 2 a b + b ^ { 2 }{/tex}
{tex}= 16{q^2} + 8q{/tex}
{tex}= 8 \left( 2 q ^ { 2 } + q \right){/tex}
= 8m, which is divisible by 8.
