Once there lived an old farmer in a village. He had four sons. They always quarreled among themselves. The father often advised them to mend their ways. But they did not listen to him.

One day, he fell seriously ill. He was on death bed. He called his sons to his bed-side. He wanted to teach them a lesson before his death. He asked them to bring a bundle of sticks. The bundle was brought. He asked them to break the bundle. Each of them tried his best. But no one could break the bundle.

The wise father now untied the bundle. He asked them to break one stick each. Now each of them broke his stick easily. The father said to them, “If you are united, nobody can harm you. If you quarrel, you will suffer.” These words worked magic. They promised to live in peace.

When the grandparents had taken food, they ordered more food and had their dinner. When they started to leave the restaurant, a man sitting in the corner called him and told him that he had left a lot of things there. Lencho was a hardworking farmer. He laboured like an ox. He had good knowledge of farming and knew his crop needed a downpour to give him good yield.

Lencho had great faith in God. He knew how to read and write. He wrote a letter to God for help when his crops were totally ruined by hailstones.

He was a simple and innocent farmer. He could not reason out things. He blamed the post-office employees for cheating him of 30 pesos and called them ‘A bunch of crooks’.

But Lencho was a caring head of the family. He got sad and worried that his family would have to go hungry.

Griffin was a lawless person but by profession he was a scientist. His landlord disliked him and tired to get rid of him.In revenge griffin set fire to the house and ran away. He had no money and so he stole and robbed people after becoming invisible. When je went into London store, he gave himself the pleasure of clothing. He fed himself without regards to any expenses. Such a behaviour is never expected from a scientist. He also robbed the shopkeeper at Drury Lane and robbed in of whatever he could find. When he exhausted all his money he had stolen, then again he robbed a clergyman. He even attacked the inn keeper and his wife. Later when the police came to arrest him,he threw off his clothes and became invisible and ran away. One who doesn't obey law and fails to behave properly, he is surely a lawless person.
