Apartheid- It was the policy of social discrimination followed in South Africa. This policy divided the people and labelled them on the basis of their skin colour. Under this system, blacks were forbidden from living in white areas. Trains, buses, hotels, hospitals, schools and colleges, libraries, cinema halls, public toilets, etc. were all separate for white and blacks. In South Africa, white did not give equal rights to the native Africans.
India had raised this issue first time in United Nations General Assembly in 1946.
It was due to the constant moral support of India and the continuous struggle of Dr. Nelson Mandela, the policy of apartheid has been abolished in South Africa in 1990.

Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was a famous Indian film director, novelist, screenwriter and a journalist in Urdu, Hindi and English languages. In the story "Bholi" he aptly highlighted the social evils present in our society and also provide's a solution to eradicate them. Bholi is the story of a village girl who was discriminated as she had pock-marks on her face, stammered and was considered to be a simpleton. Bholi suffered an attack of smallpox when she was just two years old. She damaged a part of her brain when she fell off from the cot. Education transformed ‘a dumb cow’ into a fearless and courageous girl. First, she agreed to many an unequal match, Bishamber, just to maintain the honour of the family. Her father, Ramlal, put even his turban at the feet of the greedy bridegroom. He accepted to many a girl with pock-marks only after getting 5000 rupees as dowry. Bholi showed the courage of throwing away the ceremonial garland into the fire. She refused to have a mean, greedy and contemptible coward like Bishamber Nath as her husband.

The story” A Letter to God: written by GL Fuentes enforces our faith in humanity. After reading the story, we know that there are still people who help others without any self-interest. Here the post master and other employees lay an example of humanity and kindness for others . First they all laughed at Lencho’s letter to God because they knew that there Was no such person but they were really moved by Lencho’s faith in God . They decided to help him to keep his faith alive and firm.Even though it was not possible for them to collect hundred pesos and kept them in an envelope for Lencho. They signed on it ‘God’ except there own name .This act shows us the true picture of humanity and motivates us to be a noble and kind person.

Ambition is a great incentive to work. A life without ambition is like an arrow without a target. Seneca rightly said, "If one does not know which part one is sailing, no wind is favourable". An ambition is a dream with a deadline. All successful people have an ambition. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do. Precisely, ambition is the path to success. My ambition in life is to become a teacher. It is the best way to cater to the needs of coming generations.
I know, the task of an excellent teacher is to stimulate apparently ordinary people to unusual effort. The challenge lies in not identifying winners, it is in making winners out of ordinary. I shall strive my best to guide my students not only to acquire knowledge but also prepare for the life in future. Every child is like a flower. I would make them enjoy their stay in the school. If that is achieved, I am sure the children would learn whatever is being taught. I would mould my students to become both intelligent and knowledgeable. In short, all my students would grow up into ideal citizens and great human beings who have love for all living beings.
"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops" said Henry Adams. Remembering this I would be an ideal teacher. "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. So, I would become a great teacher. And I would work hard to accomplish my ambition.

Anne Frank is the main character of 'From the Diary of Young Girl' . Her diary entries give an insight about her character and personality. Anne find a good and confident friend in the form of her diary which which she could share all her feelings. She share everything with her diary. She does not think she is pretty, but she is confident that her personality and other good traits make up for it.
Anne is a playful and comical but with the serious side. She is content and optimistic despite the threats and danger that her family faces. She is remarkably forthright and perceptive at the beginning of the diary but as she leaves her normal childhood behind and enters the dire and unusual circumstances of the holocaust, she becomes more introspective and thoughtful. Dear Sir,
Subject: Replacement of a faulty television
Last month I bought a Samsung TV from your shop. It had warranty of two years and I made a full payment at the time of purchase. But now I find that some of the features are not working properly. There are colourful shadows on the sides of the screen and they are not being adjusted. Also, there are some buttons on the remote that are not working.
I request you to kindly arrange for the replacement of the TV at the earliest as it is causing a lot of inconvenience. Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours sincerely,
Amrita

One can not expect a teacher to take a joke by a child in such a good spirit as Mr Keesing took Anne’s. Finally, he even allowed her to talk and did not assign her any more extra homework.
Mr keesing, the professor started cracking jokes every now and then in front of the class.
