The story ‘The Hack Driver’ is the story of a hack driver called Oliver Lutkins. He lived at New Mullion. He was an important witness in a court case. The law firm wrote many letters to him but he did not appear before the court. At last, the firm sent a young lawyer to New Mullion to issue summons to Lutkins. The junior assistant clerk did not recognise Lutkins. Lutkins met him at the station. He took the assistant clerk all over the town in search of Lutkins although he himself was Lutkins. He could not serve the summons to Lutkins. He had to return back to the city. But the owner of the legal firm sent him back to New Mullion. He could serve the summons to Lutkins this time`The Hack Driver’ is the story of a very cunning manipulator Bill (Oliver Lutkins). It also shows that appearances are often deceptive. Once, the narrator, a junior clerk in a law firm, had to go to New Mullion to serve a summon to Oliver Lutkins. There he met Bill (Oliver Lutkins), the hack driver. When the narrator asked about Oliver Lutkins, Bill took him to Fritz who replied that Oliver had been there a little while ago. Bill, who was Oliver Lutkins himself, made a plan to befool the narrator. In a very friendly but subtle way, Bill manipulated the tour, taking the lawyer around the village. He arranged meetings with Fritz, Gustaf’s shop owner, a barber etc. Then Bill took him to Oliver Lutkins’ mother who was a terrible, huge woman who threatened to beat them. At last, he returned disappointed. He couldn’t trace Oliver Lutkins. His boss rebuked him badly and asked him to go back to New Mullion with a person who knew Lutkins. When they reached there, he found Bill and Lutkins’ mother together. The man recognised Lutkins. He told that Bill no one but Lutkins himself.

It can be said that the lawyer was gullible. He could have avoided being taken for a ride if he had noticed what the hack driver was doing.The lawyer could have taken control of the proceedings by asking the hack driver to step aside and by doing his work himself.

You cannot tackle a class successfully unless you have mastered your subject, so all teachers are not good teachers. Greed for money and position has  entered this profession also. Many teachers have turned to be most exploiters of their profession but still there are lots of such teachers who are worth worship. They put their hearts and should into their students and do not join the race competition of their  colleagues. Such teachers leave indelible impressions in the  minds of students who never forget their favourite  teachers. Every successful person has been fortunate to sit  before one or two such teachers. These teachers continue to be the topic of their various discussions all their lives and they continues to get inspiration from them. Generally these days the school have become highly commercial. They charge lot of fees and studies have become very expensive especially in big cities. In this speedy race for money the teacher is also exploited. He is not paid his due and he is also seen involved in unfair means to earn extra money. They force the students to take tuitions in the evenings besides their legitimate class. Numerous such tuition centres are unhealthy trend. The teacher should try to preserve the high morale of his profession by trying to show his worth in the  class for which he is paid and not engage in such unethical behaviour.

The Ideal Teacher              The ideal teacher would always look out for their students, no matter what the situation is. He or she should treat their students as if there was their own kids. Teachers needs to understand their students well enough, and should build a strong relationship with each other. So that positive things can work out for the better and fall into place. Every student is totally different, and each student have their own problems in every classrooms. It's very important for teachers to be there for their students, and some students needs a lot of help in different areas. The ideal teacher knows what are the requirements are in each and every student in the classrooms. Some students needs individual help after school. An ideal teacher will provide extra help in anyway possible. It's very important to have students participate in classrooms activities like read out loud; This builds up educational skills for the future.              An ideal teacher really needs to motivate their students to work hard in class. An ideal teacher will always encourage students, and inspire their students to do the right thing in life. He or she should make students feel real comfortable and confident in the classrooms as possible. In order for students to reach their dreams in life they need to have confidence. Teachers all over the United States don't push their students hard enough in the classrooms.              A perfect teacher will always challenge their students to go the extra mile. The reason being is the students can't stay on the same level all the time. They have to gradually move up to advance levels. It's very important for teachers to be very patient towards their students, and give them time to think and relax. Lutkin's disguised appearance as Bill caught the lawyer's attention. He told him that he wanted to find Lutkins. As soon as Lutkins knew that the lawyer had come to find him, he came up with his plan for fooling him.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

Exhibition refers to displaying or showing of specified arts or items. There are many types of exhibitions. Recently our school conducted a science exhibition which was held at school playground. The exhibition was a light to knowledge we inhibited. On the walls, there were various posters hanging. The posters contain diagrams, pictures, tables, statements and so forth. Through this exhibition, students learned about various remedies to cure diseases and about different kinds of bacteria. Also, students were fascinated by the new machines and technologies which were on display. All were so happy to be filled with such scientific knowledge and would love to visit every year.

Richard had become bored with collecting butterflies. His mother got him a book on the migration of butterflies. Richard came in contact with Dr. Urquhart through the book. Dr. Urquhart directed him to study the migration pattern of butterflies. When he did not win any prize in the science fair in seventh grade, he again wrote to Dr. Urquhart to guide him. The scientist gave him many suggestions for new experiments. Richard performed these experiments throughout his high school and won many prizes. Later, he worked on why bright spots are found on a monarch pupa, motivated by Dr. Urquhart. It led to the discovery of a new hormone. The discovery of this new hormone further led to an important theory. The theory was about how cells read their DNA. In this way Dr. Urquhart proved to be his true mentor.

Subject: Nuisance caused by loudspeakers in the city during examination days
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the nuisance caused by the indiscriminate use of loudspeakers at religious places, wedding processions, market places and jagrans during the examination days. Students are unable to concentrate on the heavy backlog of revision work during these days. The result is that they fare badly in the examinations and this leads to frustration and unhappiness among students. Their parents also suffer due to it. It is high time the authorities concerned take a serious note of this nuisance and initiate remedial measures to check the problem. Use of loudspeakers should be totally banned irrespective of the place where these are used. It is not only a cause of nuisance but also adds to the noise pollution.
