Helen's father, Arthur Keller, as described by her was the most compassionate man who was devoted to his family. Being a great hunter, his gun and dogs were the next thing he loved after his family. The only time he would leave his family was to go hunting. Also, being a gracious host, he seldom went home without a guest. He was a nature lover and gardener by choice who took real pride in the big garden where he had cultivated the finest and the choicest fruits. Helen fondly remembers her father leading her from tree to tree through the garden.
When Helen came to know that she was different from others, it annoyed her; she threw a fit and screamed till she became tired. All her tantrums were excused by her father as he understood her and felt the pain she went through. In her autobiography, Helen clearly recounts her father's caressing touch and also the delight he felt in doing everything that pleased her. Nothing please him more than to have Helen repeat the anecdotes, clumsily written on her hand. He was very persistent in looking for methods to help her out.
Arthur Keller's life revolved around his family. When it was time for Helen's naming, her father wished to name her Mildred Campbell, a highly esteemed ancestor; but because her mother wished to name Helen after her maiden name Helen Exerett, her father obliged without any hesitation. This characteristic of her father clearly shows that for him, his wife and his family were his priority. Her family played an immense role in her educational pursuits.

The poem conveys the message that man is mortal. He might be proud of his powers but the reality is far more cruel that everything comes to an end as the time keeps on moving and changing. Immortality is the fact concerned with views, time, poetry and goodness only. Thus, Shelley points out very well the power of time. He says that how much ever the emperor might be cruel and powerful in his own time, the race against time can never be won.

It was during Helen's visit to Boston that she began to read in earnest and was permitted to spend a part of each day in the Institution library. She would wander from bookcase to bookcase and take down whatever book her fingers lighted upon. When she read, she understood one word in ten or two words on a page. The words fascinated her but she took no conscious account of what she read. But she was at an impressionable age so her mind retained many of the words and sentences which would flash quite naturally. This led her friends to wonder at the richness of Helen's vocabulary. She had read parts of many books and a great deal of poetry without comprehending but it was not until she discovered 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' which was the first book of any consequence that she read understandingly. One day her teacher found Helen in the corner of the library poring over the pages of 'The Scarlet Letter' when she was eight years old. Her teacher told her about the story of Lord Fauntleroy which Helen could read instead. Thus began her journey of reading the first chapters of the fascinating child's story and her outlook towards reading changed. She began to enjoy and understand what she read.

Value Points : everything comes to an end one day what is most important is our relationship with our dear ones. the poet strengthens this idea that riches don't matter what is more valuable is his love for his friend.
Detailed Answer :
It is a well-known truth that materialistic
things don't really last. All signs of worldly power, glory and grandeur fade away with the passage of
time. Kings and Princes get their monuments erected so as to be remembered by the future
generations. But all gold-plated monuments, memorials and statues eventually
fall into utter neglect, decay and deterioration. They all meet the dust as
they fail to outlive the
ravages of time. In stark contrast to this are our relationships. They are
immortal. They don't get
destroyed by time. Rather they are strengthened with the passage of time. The
poet is also of the opinion
that riches don't matter much in this world. What is more valuable is his love
for his friend. Their love will live longer than any man-made monuments.
Neither death nor war will be able to destroy his memory. Hence, it is our love and relationships which
matter the most in this world. All other things come to an end one day.
