Coniferous Forests grow in the Himalayan mountain region, where the temperatures are low. These forests have tall stately trees with needlelike leaves and downward sloping branches so that the snow can slip off the branches. They have cones instead of seeds and are called Gymnosperms.
A temperate forest is a forest found between the tropical and boreal regions, located in the temperate zone. It is the second largest biome on the planet, covering 25% of the world's forest area, only behind the boreal forest, which covers about 33%. These forests cover both hemispheres at latitudes ranging from 25 to 50 degrees, wrapping the planet in a belt similar to that of the boreal forest. Due to its large size spanning several continents, there are several main types: deciduous, coniferous, broadleaf and mixed forest and rainforest.

In the 18th century, the middle class emerged as a new group in the society of France. This group was comprised of people of various occupation such as lawyer, traders, merchants and administrative officials etc. This group was against the ideas of the monarchy; that granted privileges on the basis of birth. However, they gave more value to the qualities of a person. Merit should be the base of the social position of a person. The middle class gave a platform to the people who were fighting against the increasing taxes and food shortage. They were encouraged by the beliefs of equality and democracy proposed by English and French socio-political philosophers. These beliefs spread among the people as a consequence of intense conversation and discussions in coffee houses, salons through pamphlets and newspapers.

Role of women in Nazi society followed the rules of a largely patriarchal or male-dominated society. Hitler hailed women as "the most important citizen" in his Germany, but this was true for only Aryan women who bred pure-blooded Aryan children. Motherhood was the only goal they were taught to reach for, apart from performing the stereotypical functions of managing the household and being good wives. This was in stark contrast to the role of women in the French Revolution where women led movements and fought for rights to education and equal wages. They were allowed to form political clubs, and schooling was made compulsory for them after the French Revolution.

In countries we call democracy, all the people do not rule. A majority is allowed to take decisions on behalf of all people. Even the majority does not rule directly. The majority rule through their elected representatives. This has become necessary because:
- Modern democracies involve such large number of people that it is physically impossible for them to sit together and take a collective decision.
- Even if they could, the citizens does not have time, the desire or the skills to take part in all the decisions. That is why, representative democracy is significant in the contemporary world.
