Politically, too the Weimer republic was Fragile. The Weimer Constitution had some inherent defects, which made it unstable and vulnerable to dictatorship. One was proportional representation. This made achieving a majority by any one party a near impossible task, leading to a rule by coalition.

They wanted a nation which tolerated called religions.It was the time when European state usually discriminated in the favour of one religion or the other.Liberals were not in favour of uncontrolled power of dynastic rulers.They wanted to safeguard the rights of individuals against government.They are good for a representative, elected parliamentary government, subject to laws interpreted by a well trained and independent judiciary.But they were not in favour of Universal adult franchise.They also did not want the vote for women.
