{tex}\eqalign{ & Area\,of\,triangle = {1 \over 2} \times base \times height \cr & A = {1 \over 2} \times 16 \times h \cr & A = 8 \times h \cr & \cr} {/tex}

Given that: equal sides are 10cm. each

As we know that height of an  isoseles triangle divides it into two right angle triangles so using Pythogorus theorem we can calculate the height of isoseles triangle

base of right angle triangle=8 cm.

hypo=10

h2=102-82

h=6cm.

so A=8x6

A=48cm2
