If m and n be two rational numbers such that m < n then 1/2 (m + n) is a rational number between m and n.
1. Find out a rational number lying halfway between 2/7 and 3/4.
Solution:
Required number = 1/2 (2/7 + 3/4)
= 1/2 ((8 + 21)/28)
= {1/2 × 29/28)
= 29/56
Hence, 29/56 is a rational number lying halfway between 2/7 and 3/4.

Non terminating mean (never ends):
Let say a number 10 is divided by the the number 3 to obtain the remainder zero, then the the quotient part will be 3.33333…..and so on. Notice that the numbers of quotient are not ending at any point of time. In this case the remainder never be zero.

Perimeter of a square = 4 * side
4x + 20 = side * 4
side = 4x + 20 / 4
side = 4 ( x + 5 ) / 4
∴side = x + 5 cm.
Now,
Diagonal of a square = √2 * side
Diagonal = √2 * ( x + 5 ) cm.
