Let us assume √2 is rational number.
a rational number can be written into he form of p/q
√2=p/q
p=√2q
Squaring on both sides
p²=2q²__________(1)
.·.2 divides p² then 2 also divides p
.·.p is an even number
Let p=2a (definition of even number,'a' is positive integer)
Put p=2a in eq (1)
p²=2q²
(2a)²=2q²
4a²=2q²
q²=2a²
.·.2 divides q² then 2 also divides q
Both p and q have 2 as common factor.
But this contradicts the fact that p and q are co primes or integers.
Our supposition is false
.·.√2 is an irrational number.

Just like given in the chapter 1 example, first convert each number into a rational number form. For example: Let x=1.32323232...... eq.1 Thus, 100x = 132.323232.... eq.2 Subtracting eq.2 by eq.1 we will get, 99x = 131 So, x = 131/99 Similarly Let y =0.353535...... eq.3 Thus, 100y = 35.35353535.... eq.4 Subtracting eq. 4 by eq. 3 we will get, 99y = 35 So, y = 35/99 Thus the given question can be written as : -> x + y = 131/99 + 35/99 -> (131 + 35 )/99 -> 166/99 (Final Answer). ~----------------THE END----------------~

Present Future ( +10 years ) Relation
Father (x)  x + 10 double of sons age
Son (y)  y + 10 age

Therefore, x + 10 = 2 (y + 10)
=>  x + 10 = 2y + 20
=>  x - 2y = 10.

  x+y=12 ------(1)
Squaring equation 1 on both sides
  (x+y)² = 12²-----(2)

(a+b)²=a²+2ab+b²

Now comparing (x+y)² with (a+b)² here a=x and b=y

So Equation 2 becomes
  (x+y)² = 12²
  x²+2xy+y² =12²
  x²+y² = 144 - 2xy----(3)

But in question its given that xy= 32

So, substituting xy = 32 in equation 3

   x²+y² =144-2*32

  x²+y² =144-64 = 80.

If twice of x is 30 less than y , Then 2x +30 = y Now, x + y = 180 X + (2x + 30) = 180 3x + 30 = 180 3x = 180 - 30 3x = 150 X = 50 Now, 2x + 30 = y 2(50) + 30 = y 100 + 30 = y Y = 130
