A landslide is defined as the movement of a mass of rock, debris, or earth down a slope. The term "landslide" encompasses five modes of slope movement: falls, topples, slides, spreads, and flows. Landslides are part of a more general erosion or surficial process known as mass wasting, which is simply the downslope movement of earth or surface materials due to gravity. They are classified into four main types: fall and toppling, slides (rotational and translational), flows and creep.

Biofuels are designed to replace gasoline, diesel fuel and coal, which are called “fossil fuels” because they are made from animals and plants that died millions of years ago. Biofuels are made mostly from plants that have just been harvested.

There are three main types of biofuel. Ethanol, biodiesel, and biojet fuel. Ethanol is used in engines that burn gasoline, like most cars. Biodiesel is used in engines that burn diesel fuel, like large trucks and tractors. Biojet fuel is used in planes.

Land resources in India are primarily divided into agricultural land, forest land, land meant for pasture and grazing, and waste land. Waste land includes rocky, arid and desert areas, and land used for other non-agricultural purposes such as housing, roads and industry. According to the recent data, about 54% of the total land area is cultivable or fallow, 22.5% is covered by forests, and 3.45% is used for grazing. The rest is waste land, with traces of miscellaneous cultivation.

Individual meat cuts such as steaks, chops, stewing meat, and ground meat should be kept covered on plastic or stainless steel trays at 2°C to 4°C (36°F to 39°F). Fresh seafood should be packed in ice, stored at –1°C to 2°C (30°C to 34°F) and used as soon as possible.
A general 'rule of thumb' is that cool season fruit and veg, such as kale and sprouts, should be stored at around 0-2°C. Warmer season fruit and veg, such a cucumber and tomato, is best stored around 7-10°C.

The rate of change of position of an object in any direction.

It is measured as the ratio of distance to the time in which the distance was covered. Speed is a scalar quantity as it has only direction and no magnitude.

The 3 Rs of environmental conservation are Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

  • Reduce: Reduce the amount of Earth's resources which we use. Use of less paper and plastic carry bags.
  • Reuse: Reuse means not to throw old goods away, but to use the same goods again so that the demand for new goods is reduced. Plastic jars can be reused for storing salt, food grains etc.
  • Recycle: Recycle means rather than throwing materials away, they can be recycled. Used and discarded plastic, glass, paper and metal are sent to the respective industries where they can be converted into other useful products such as lampshades, handbags etc.

A seed is a basic part of any plant. The ovules after fertilization, develop into seeds. A seed is made up of a seed coat and an embryo. The embryo is made up of a radicle, an embryonal axis and one (wheat, maize) or two cotyledons (gram and pea). A seed is found inside a fruit which converts into a new plant when we plant it. Hence, the seed is the most important part.

A landslide is defined as the movement of a mass of rock, debris, or earth down a slope. Landslides are a type of "mass wasting," which denotes any down-slope movement of soil and rock under the direct influence of gravity. These landslides are called submarine landslides. A landslide is any geologic process in which gravity causes rock, soil, artificial fill or a combination of the three to move down a slope. Several things can trigger landslides, including the slow weathering of rocks as well as soil erosion, earthquakes and volcanic activity.

In practice, the method of cross-multiplying means that we multiply the numerator of each (or one) side by the denominator of the other side, effectively crossing the terms over. We can use cross-multiplication to solve an equation with 2 ratios and find the value of the variable. We can use cross-multiplication to find the value of a variable in an equation involving ratios, as shown in the example.
