Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

The 4R means Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Restore.

(i) Reduce: We should reduce the use of non-biodegradable compounds that are harmful to us.

Example: Instead of using polythene bags we should give preference to paper bags.

(ii) Reuse: We should reuse the materials instead of dumping.

Example: Plastic bags can be reused to make decorative things.

(iii) Recycle: Non-biodegradable materials should be subjected to the recycling process.

Example: Plastic materials.

(iv) Recovery: If the waste remains after it is been reused and recycled, we can use it to generate energy at our waste-energy (EfW) plant. This is known as Recovery.

Answer:  Cotton is made up of natural polymer namely cellulose.

Explanation : A synthetic fibre is made of small units which are joined together. These units are made of chemical substances. Such small units combine to form a large single unit called a polymer. Hence, a polymer is made of many repeating units. Polymers also occur in nature. For example, cotton is a natural polymer which is made from the cellulose. Cellulose is made up of a large number of glucose units.

Incorrect : He walked across the park among the flower beds.

Correct : He walked across the park between the flower beds.

Explanation :

Should I use between or among?

<i>Between</i> is usually used with two — but sometimes more than two — separate and distinct things. For example:

  • The map is between the palm tree and the hut.
  • What is the difference between hate, loathing, and disdain?

<i>Among</i> is used to portray the idea of being in a group or in the midst of a group. For example:

  • I want to live among like-minded people.
  • Share these sweets among yourselves.

A function is differentiable at a point when there's a defined derivative at that point. This means that the slope of the tangent line of the points from the left is approaching the same value as the slope of the tangent of the points from the right. As a result, the graph of a differentiable function must have a (non-vertical) tangent line at each interior point in its domain, be relatively smooth, and cannot contain any break, angle, or cusp.
