In the British territories in the south a new system was devised which came to be known as the ryotwari system.
It was tried on a small-scale by Captain Alexander Read. Subsequently, Thomas Munro, the Governor of Madras, developed this system which was gradually extended all over south India. In the south there were no traditional zamindars. Hence the settlement was made directly with the cultivators or ryots who had tilled the land for generations. Their fields were separately surveyed before the revenue assessment was made.

Cells are the basic, fundamental unit of life. So, if we were to break apart an organism to the cellular level, the smallest independent component that we would find would be the cell.
Cells are similar to factories with different labourers and departments that work towards a common objective. Various types of cells perform different functions. Based on cellular structure, there are two types of cells:
- Prokaryotes
- Eukaryotes

Byophylum are also known as air plants. In Bryophylum, reproduction occurs through asexual means, specifically, through vegetative propagation of leaves. The leaves of Bryophylum are broad possessing notches at its margins, these are the locations from which buds(notches) arise. The buds are termed as epiphyllous buds which have the potential to produce new plants having shoots, small leaves and adventitious roots. The newly formed plants can then detach from teh leaves to grow into a mature plant once it touches the soil.

Octopuses have blue blood. To survive in the deep ocean, octopuses evolved a copper rather than iron-based blood called hemocyanin, which turns its blood blue. This copper base is more efficient at transporting oxygen than hemoglobin when water temperature is very low and not much oxygen is around.
