Metals Iron is used for making automobiles, machinery, pipes, containers, nails, etc. Gold and silver are used for making jewellery. Copper is used for making electrical wires, cooking utensils, etc. Zinc is mainly used as a protective coating for iron. Aluminium is used for making electrical cables, packaging, cooking utensils, etc.
Non-metals Hydrogen is used for the synthesis of ammonia and methyl alcohol, in welding torches, etc. Sulphur is used in the manufacture of compounds like sulphuric acid and sulphates and in the production of matches, dyes, and gunpowder. Graphite is used in pencils, in zinc-carbon batteries, and in brake linings. Phosphorus is used in the fireworks industry and for making special glasses used in sodium lamps

Continuous plantation of crops in a field makes the soil poor in certain nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, etc. Plants require nutrients for their proper growth and functioning. When a farmer continues to grow’ crops one after the other, then all nutrients available in the soil reduce and the crop yield decreases automatically.

The minority (boys) will feel dominated by the majority (girls) if the girls try to misuse their majority against the boys
Eg. The girls want to play basketball while the boys want to play football. In this case the girls request for a show of hands and due to the boys being a minority they lose.In this case the minority will feel dominated by the majority.

Advantages of Nuclear Energy:
1) Nuclear reactions release a million times more energy, as compared to hydro or wind energy. Hence, a
large amount of electricity can be generated. 2) The biggest advantage of nuclear energy is that it
does not generate any greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide , ozone, methane etc.)
3) Nuclear reactor uses uranium as fuel and we have
high reserves of uranium in earth.
Disadvantages of Nuclear Energy:
1) The waste produced after fission reactions contains unstable elements and is highly radioactive. It is very
dangerous to the environment as well as human health, and remains so, for thousands of years.
2) Though large amount of energy can be produced from a nuclear power plant, it requires large capital cost.
