This substance is added to the gas when it leaves the main storage terminals. This substance is added in order to detect its leakage of LPG at the household level in order to save from fire accidents. Hence, the strong smelling substance added to LPG is ethyl mercaptan
Ethyl mercaptan is a strong smelling agent added to LPG cylinders to detect leakage. As we all know, LPG is very dangerous, because if it leaks, it can cause terrible fires and devastating explosions. To avoid this, Ethyl Mercaptan is added to the gas, which possesses that strong odor of rotten cabbages

Priya Raj 2 years ago

Beacuse if we add smelling agent to lpg then it doesn't leak

This is because unlike the strict separation between religion and the State in America secularism, in India secularism the State can intervene in religious affairs. For example: how the Indian Constitution intervened in Hindu religious practises in order to abolish untouchability In Indian secularism through the State is not strictly separate from religion. If fundamental right have been violating then the Indian constitution will have to intervene in the case.
