Chauth was a regular tax where one-fourth of the total produce was to be paid to the ruler.
Chauth is kind of tax which the small kingdoms or Dynasties have to pay to Marathas in order to protect their territory being invaded and conquered by Marathas.
Chauth is 25% of total revenue generated in the State and it is paid to the Marathas Sardas.

The Subsidiary Alliance system was used by Lord Wellesley, who was Governor-General of India from 1798-1805, to build an empire in India. Under the system, the allying Indian state's ruler was compelled to accept the permanent stationing of a British force within his territory and to pay a subsidy for its maintenance. Also, the Indian ruler had to agree to the posting of a British Resident in his court.
Under the Subsidiary Treaty, the Indian ruler could not employ any European in his service without the prior approval of the British. Nor could he negotiate with any other Indian ruler without consulting the Governor-General. In return for all this, the British agreed to defend the ruler from his enemies and adopt a policy of non-interference in the internal matters of the allied state.
Subsidiary Alliance brought immense gains for the East India Company by extending the areas under British control and bringing relative peace in subsidies and territory.
During the seven-year rule of Wellesley alone, over 100 small and big states of India signed the Subsidiary Treaty.

The streams of dust and gas thus released form a huge, extremely tenuous atmosphere around the comet called the coma, and the force exerted on the coma by the Sun's radiation pressure and solar wind cause an enormous tail to form, which points away from the Sun. As a comet gets close to a star, it begins to boil of some of its ice, this gives the comet a tail, and since it's so diffuse and wide spread it can reflect a lot of light, this is why it would appear bright like a star.

The British landed on Indian Subcontinent at the port of Surat, August 24, 1608 AD for the purpose of trade, but after 7 years British got Royal order (i.e. Farman) to establish a factory at Surat under the leadership of Sir Thomas Roe (Ambassador of James I). Following this, the East India Company also got similar permission from the Vijaynagara Empire to set up their second factory in Madras.
