- As the Company worried about declining revenues, it introduced the Permanent Settlement of Bengal in 1793. It was introduced by Lord Cornwallis.
- According to this settlement, the rajas and taluqdars were recognised as the zamindars of the land. They had to collect rent from the peasants and pay the revenues to the Company.
- The amount to be paid to the Company was fixed permanently. The Company thought that this would ensure a steady and regular flow of revenues to them and would encourage the zamindar to invest in the improvement of the land.

The simplest way to use the periodic table to identify an element is by looking for the element's name or elemental symbol. The periodic table can be used to identify an element by looking for the element's atomic number. The atomic number of an element is the number of protons found within the atoms of that element. An element is a substance that is made entirely from one type of atom. For example, the element hydrogen is made from atoms containing a single proton and a single electron. ... All isotopes of a particular element have the same number of protons, but have a different number of neutrons.

Renewable Resources: Solar energy, water (hydro) energy, wind energy and to some extent, plants and shrubs.
While it is true that renewable energy resources are available in plenty and can be used repeatedly. However, its overuse can have some negative effects. In case of plants and vegetables, as the growth will increase to meet the increasing demand, it will have adverse impact on the underground water table and mineral content. This might lead to delay in growth of plants and vegetables. Secondly, while solar energy and wind energy is available in abundance, the stock of hydro energy is being affected by over use. This is because with the change in climate, rains are becoming lesser especially in tropical regions. This leads to decrease in the water levels of rivers which affect the production of hydro energy.

Secularism is to create a society in which people of all religions or people who don't belong to any religion can live together peacefully. It says that no one shall be subject to discrimination by any State, institution, group of persons, or person on grounds of religion or other beliefs. Indian concept of secularism, where religious laws supersede state laws and the state is expected to even-handedly involve itself in religion, is a controversial subject. Any attempts and demand by the Indian populace to a uniform civil code is considered a threat to right to religious personal laws by Indian Muslims.

Soil can be conserved in the following ways:
Mulching:An uncovered piece of land is covered with straw or any other layer of organic matter. This method helps the soil to retain moisture.
Contour Barriers:Barriers along the contours are made by growing grass or by putting stones to help in preventing soil erosion.
Terrace Farming: It is the construction of terraces or flat steps on steep slopes. Terrace farming helps in reducing surface runoff water and prevents soil erosion.
Contour Ploughing:Land is ploughed parallel to the contour of a hillslope. This makes a natural barrier for water to flow down the slope.
Shelter Belts:Trees are planted in straight rows to check the movement of winds. It prevents soil erosion.

The problem with the periodisation of Indian history by James Mill is that he divided the Indian history into Hindu, Muslim and the British period. It has been argued by many historians that it is not correct to periodise the Indian history on the basis of religion of the rulers.
