Let, number be=x ATQ 1/2- x × 1/2 = 1/8 1/4 - x = 1/8 -x = 1/8 - 1/4 -x = -1/8 x = 1/8 Minus minus will become positive So 1/8 is the answer

Shagun ??? 4 years, 7 months ago

Let the number be x ATQ:- (x - 1/2) × 1/2=1/8 x - 1/2 = 1/8 × 2 x-1/2 = 1/4 x = 1/4 + 1/2 Take LCM 4 x = 1+2/4 x = 3/4 So, the ans is 3/4......

Nikita And Pratik 4 years, 7 months ago

First we take the no.be 'x' Then as per question - We have to subtract 1/2 from a no. = X-1/2 Then ,the ans of x-1/2 is multiple by 1/2 = we don't know the ans of x-1/2 ,so we take 1/2 (x-1/2) And this expression is equal to 1/8 — According to question 1/2(x-1/2)=1/8 X-1/2=1/8÷1/2 X-1/2= 2/8 X=2/8+1/2 X=6/8 *X=3/4*

Ritik Chauhan 4 years, 7 months ago

If we subtract 1/2 from a number and multiply the result by 1/2, then we get 1/8. Therefore 3/4 is the number from which if we subtract 1/2 from a number and multiply the result by 1/2, we get 1/8.

Nikita And Pratik 4 years, 7 months ago

First convert this in a mixed fraction . You get 3/7 =2 1/3 This 2 will tell you on which two numbers between this no. Lie and 3 tell you that in how many part you have to divide the line of no. On which it is lie then 3 will tell which part you have to mark . Hope it will help you ☺️
