P = 1200000
R = 4% per annum
h = 2 years
{tex}\therefore A = P{\left( {1 + \frac{R}{{100}}} \right)^h}{/tex}
{tex} = 1200000{\left( {1 + \frac{4}{{100}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 1200000{\left( {1 + \frac{1}{{25}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 1200000{\left( {\frac{{26}}{{25}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 1200000\frac{{26}}{{25}} \times \frac{{26}}{{25}}{/tex}
= 1297920
Hence, the population of the city after 2 years is 1297920.
