Highest common factor Q1. Find the highest common factor (H.C.F) of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five). Solution: Factors of 15 (Fifteen) = 1, 3, 5 and 15. Factors of 35 (Thirty five) = 1, 5, 7 and 35. Therefore, common factor of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five) = 1 and 5. Highest common factor (H.C.F) of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five) = 5.

Hi Student.

Let's start by assuming the total monthly salary be 100x.

According to the question, the man saves 18% of his monthly income, that means every month he saves 18x.

In the question, 18x = 3780

we just need to find the value of 100x.

x=3780/18

x= 210

If x=210 then 100x= 100*210= 21,000.

Hope this helps!!

Good Luck :D

Hi Student,

We can easily solve this by assuming the father's age as X and son's age as Y.

According to the first statement we can form this equation.

(x-5)+2y=65.......(1)

and from the second statement we can form this equation.

3x+(y-5)=130.......(2)

By solving the above equations we will have the values of X = 40 and Y = 10 .

Please let me know if you need any help regarding any of the steps.

Feel free to comment.

Thanks!!

Good luck :D

By using compound interest formula
P = Rs. 8000
R = 9% p.a. {tex} = \frac{9}{2}\% {/tex} per half year
n = 1 year = 1 × 2 half years
=  2 half years
{tex}\therefore A = P{\left( {1 + \frac{R}{{100}}} \right)^n} = 8000{\left( {1 + \frac{9}{{2 \times 100}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 8000{\left( {1 + \frac{9}{{200}}} \right)^2} = 8000{\left( {\frac{{209}}{{200}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 8000 \times \frac{{209}}{{200}} \times \frac{{209}}{{200}}{/tex}
= Rs. 8736.20
{tex}\therefore {/tex} C.I. = A – P
= Rs. 8736.20 – Rs. 8000
= Rs. 736.20.

Hi Student.

We can calculate the area of the rectangle by the formula L*B, Thus, 24*18 = 432.

The area of the 4 quadrant can be calculated as {22/7*72}*4 (because there are 4 side of the rectangle and on each side a quadrant is being cut out.

The area of the all the 4 quadrant is154 cm2

For calculating the remaining area, simply. 432-154= 278cm2

Good luck

Cost Price: The price, at which an article is purchased, is called its cost price, abbreviated as C.P.

Selling Price: The price, at which an article is sold, is called its selling prices, abbreviated as S.P.

Profit or Gain:If S.P. is greater than C.P., the seller is said to have a profit or gain.

Loss:If S.P. is less than C.P., the seller is said to have incurred a loss.

 Gain = (S.P.) - (C.P.)
Loss = (C.P.) - (S.P.)

As their radii are in the ratio 3:3

Let them be 3x and 3x

Let Height of first cylinder=h

And Height of second cylinder = H

2πrh = 2πRH

3xh = 3xH

h/H = 3x/3x

h/H= 3/3 = 1/1

Hence, the answer is 1:1

circumference of circle = 2× π×r
2 × 22/7 × r = 220
44/7 × r = 220
r = 220 × 7/44
r = 5 × 7
r = 35 cm
Area of circle = π×r2
Area of circle = 22/7 × 35 × 35
= 22 × 5 × 35
= 3850 cm2

Jyoti Bhardwaj 6 years, 11 months ago

Circumfrence of circle = 2π r

2π r= 220

2*(22/7)*r=220

2*22*r=220*7

r=35 cm

Area of circle = π r^2

(22/7)*(35)^2

3850 sqcm
