A polynomial is defined as an expression which contains two or more algebraic terms. It is made up of two terms namely Poly (meaning “many”) and Nominal (meaning “terms.”). Polynomials are composed of:
- Constants such as 1, 2, 3, etc.
- Variables such as g, h, x, y, etc.

Any of the prime numbers that can be multiplied to give the original number is called a prime factor. Example: The prime factors of 15 are 3 and 5 (because 3×5=15, and 3 and 5 are prime numbers). The prime factors of a number are all the prime numbers that, when multiplied together, equal the original number. You can find the prime factorization of a number by using a factor tree and dividing the number into smaller parts.
