Foreigner - A person who is not an indian.

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 5 months ago

The term 'foreigner' is used in the sense of a person who is not an Indian. In the medieval period it was applied to any stranger who appeared, say in a given village, someone who was not a part of that society or culture. In this sense a forest-dweller was a foreigner for a city-dweller. But two peasants living in the same village were not foreigners to each other, even though they may have had different religious or caste backgrounds.

The interaction or relationship between living and non-livings beings in a natural environment forms an ecosystem.
All the organisms in an ecosystem are dependent on each other some way or the other and linked together by transfer of energy and material.
Human environment is hence the interaction between human beings and the environment. The difference between human-made and human environment is that the former comprises non-living things, a result of human activities while the latter is the interaction between human and the environment.
Human beings usually modify the natural environment as per their needs. Once the human settlements started, humans began the trading of articles amongst themselves. This was called as the barter trade.

Both Omprakash Valmiki and the Ansaris were victims of un- equal treatment. The dignity or self-respect of both of them was violated. The headmaster of Omprakash Valmiki compelled him to sweep the school simply because he belonged to the Dalit. The dignity of Omprakash was badly hurt. He was made to feel that he was less than equal to all other students in the school. The self-respect of the Ansaris was also hurt badly when they were refused to lease an apartment because of their religion. Omprakash and the Ansaris are also human beings and they too deserve the same dignity as anyone else.

Laws of India refers to the system of law across the Indian nation. India maintains a hybrid legal system with a mixture of civil, common law and customary, Islamic ethics, or religious law within the legal framework inherited from the colonial era and various legislation first introduced by the British are still in effect in modified forms today. Since the drafting of the Indian Constitution, Indian laws also adhere to the United Nations guidelines on human rights law and the environmental law. Indian personal law is fairly complex, with each religion adhering to its own specific laws. In most states, registering of marriages and divorces is not compulsory. Separate laws govern Hindus including Sikhs, Jain's and Buddhist, Muslims, Christians, and followers of other religions. The exception to this rule is in the state of Goa, where a uniform civil code is in place, in which all religions have a common law regarding marriages, divorces, and adoption. In the first major reformist judgment for the last decade, the Supreme Court of India banned the Islamic practice of "Triple Talaq" (divorce by uttering of the "Talaq" word thrice by the husband).[1] The landmark Supreme Court of India judgment was welcomed by women activists across India.[2] As of January 2017, there were about 1,248 laws.[3] However, since there are Central laws as well as State laws, it is difficult to ascertain their exact numbers as on a given date and the best way to find the Central Laws in India is from the official website

The term ‘exo’ means outside and ‘genic’ means origin. Therefore, exogenic forces are the forces that work on the exterior (surface) of the earth. These forces are erosional and depositional in nature.

  • The forces that cause erosion are called erosional forces. Erosion is defined as the removal of soil, sediments and rock fragments from the landscape. Wind, water and ice cause erosion.
  • Depositional forces cause deposition. The process of erosion stops when the transported materials fall out of the transporting medium (wind, water etc.) and settle on a surface. This process is called deposition.

Rock Cycle

The process of transformation of rocks from one form to an other in a cyclic manner is known as the rock cycle. It includes the following processes:

  • Hot lava cools down to form igneous rocks.
  • These igneous rocks are then broken down into small particles which are transported and then deposited. This results in the formation of sedimentary rocks
  • When these igneous and sedimentary rocks are subjected to great heat and pressure, they change into metamorphic rocks.
  • These metamorphic rocks under heat and pressure breakdown and form hot lava.
  • This hot magma then again cools down and forms igneous rocks.

The crust moves because of movements deep inside the earth. Heat rising and falling inside the mantle creates convection currents generated by radioactive decay in the core. The convection currents move the plates. Where convection currents diverge near the Earth's crust, plates move apart.

The First Battle of Tarain was fought in 1191 between the Ghurids against the Chahamanas and their allies, near Tarain (modern Taraori in Haryana, India). The Chahamana king Prithiviraj Chauhan defeated the Ghurid king Mu'izz al-Din, who avenged this defeat at the Second Battle of Tarain a year later. It was fought between the Afghan forces of Ahmad Shah Durrani along with his local Rohilla and other Pathan and Oudh allies, against the Maratha Empire. The Durrani Afghan forces and their allies finally won and defeated the Marathas. The fall of the fortress of Bathinda awakened Prithviraj to the gravity of the strong Mohammed's invasion. He promised revenge and set out with an army against Mohammed. The Rajput army completely dominated the battle.

The medieval period saw the emergence of a socially and economically diverse society in which jati or caste played an important role. Jati or caste established a social hierarchy. Ranking of a person in the society was determined by the caste to which he/she belonged. On the basis of jatis, jati panchayats were formed. Jati panchayats had the responsibility to control the conduct of their members as per the rules framed by them.

Prashastis are special kind of inscriptions and is a Sanskrit word which means “in praise for”. Prashastis are glowing praises of kings and rulers, and were written by the poets of that time.  A Prashasti composed by his court poet Ravikirti is the chief source of information about him. Harishena was court poet of Gupta king Samudragupta. He composed a prashasti in praise of Samudragupta. This is the famous Allahabad Prashasti which describes Samudragupta as a great warrior. Prashastis are a special kind of inscription, meaning “in praise of”. They were composed by learned Brahmans in praise of the rulers, which may not be literally true; but, they tell us how rulers of that time wanted to illustrate themselves.

The midday meal programme: The Mid-day Meal Scheme is the popular name for school meal programme in India which started in the 1960s. It involves provision of lunch free of cost to school-children on all working days.
Three benefits of the programme: More poor children have begun enrolling and regularly attending school. Teachers reported that earlier children would often go home for lunch and then not return to school but now with the midday meal being provided in school, their attendance has improved. Their mothers, who earlier had to interrupt their work to feed their children at home during the day, now no longer need to do so. This programme has also helped reduce caste prejudices because both lower and upper caste children in the school eat this meal together, and in quite a few places, Dalit women have been employed to cook the meal. The midday meal programme also helps reduce the hunger of poor students who often come to school and cannot concentrate because their stomachs are empty.
Promotion of gender equality : This scheme treats all the students, rich or poor alike.

The healthcare organization environment can be classified into internal and external environments. Internal environment refers to the working environment in which a healthcare service is provided (healthcare organization) and the resources and facilities required for providing services. Inadequate health care services is defined as a situation where a person requires more assistance than is currently being received for services where assistance is needed. The causes of poor health for millions globally are rooted in political, social and economic injustices. Poor health, in turn, traps communities in poverty. Infectious and neglected tropical diseases kill and weaken millions of the poorest and most vulnerable people each year.
