An earthquake is a sudden shaking or trembling of earth which lasts for a very short time. It is caused by a disturbance inside the earth's crust. There can be a great loss to life and property. Vibrations caused by an earthquake travel in the form of waves along the surface of the earth. These waves are known as Seismic waves.Earthquakes of high magnitudes (7.0 and above on Richter Scale) can cause serious damage to human life and property. Richter scale is used to measure the magnitude of an earthquake. Charles Francis Richter, an American seismologist and physicist is known as the creator of the Richter magnitude scale. 1. Right to Equality
This right states that all citizens are the same under the law. This means that men and women are equal no matter what religion or caste they belong to. The law will treat a Brahmin woman in the same way that it would treat a Muslim man if they were to break the law.
2. Right to Freedom
The particular law allows the people of the country to censure the government and its policies. They are allowed to organise themselves however they choose and carry out their daily lives in any way they seem fit. Of course within limits. In short, people are able to exist without fear of a higher force such as the government.
3. Right against Exploitation
One should always remember that to be exploited is to be misused. We often see that kids and poor people are especially vulnerable to being exploited. This one of the most important fundamental rights ensures things like education for children and equal pay for equal work.
4. Right to Freedom of Religion
In our country, each and every citizen can practice their choice of religion. Everyone is free to do whatever his/her religion tells them to do. So Muslims fast during Ramzan, Christians during Lent and Hindus during Navaratri. However, in following our religion we should not forget that other people are free to follow theirs and that this is no reason to fight.
5. Cultural and Educational Rights
The main aim of this law is to protect the minorities. We have multiple groups of people who are very less in number. They mostly live in remote areas or have been downtrodden by the old-fashioned society. We can include certain castes and tribes who live in jungles, away from developed big cities and towns. Even a particular segment of public, called Dalits or the small religious groups like the Parsis do come under minorities. All these people have a fundamental right to enjoy all the benefits that the majority of citizens enjoy.
6. Right to Constitutional Remedies
This right is very important for the legal development of the citizens and the country. All citizens have equal right to appeal to the court of law for justice. If they feel they have a threat to life or property or to join the government in order to effect this change.

The rule of the Delhi Sultans lasted for over three centuries-A.D. 1206-1526. The causes that led to the downfall of the Sultans were:
1. The Delhi Sultans came and conquered India by the force of their armies. But they never tried to win the confidence and love of their subjects.
2. Most of the Sultans were religious fanatics. Sultans like Firoz Tughlak and Sikander Lodi re-imposed jazia, the much-heated pilgrimage tax on the Hindus. Consequently the Hindus hated them and became their enemies.
3. The Muslim nobility was also much to be blamed for the downfall of the Sultans. The armies and the nobles were too powerful and could be kept under control only by powerful rulers like Alla-ud-din Khiliji and Balban. Whenever a weak ruler came on the throne they took advantage and rebelled against them.
4. The jagirdari system received by Firoz Tughlak was an important factor responsible for the ruin of the Sultans. The jagirdars became very powerful in their territories and asserted their independence.
5. The empire was too vast to be controlled in those days when means of communication were not so developed.
6. Timur’s invasion gave the final blow to the already disintegrating Sultanate and with Babur’s invasion came the end of the Delhi Sultanate.

During this period important changes occurred in the Hindu religion. The Hindus started worshiping new deities. The construction of temples by royalty, and the growing importance of Brahmanas, the priests were other developments of this period. One of the major developments of this period was the emergence of the idea of bhakti—of a loving, personal deity that devotees could reach without the end of priests or elaborate rituals. This was also the period when new religions appeared in the subcontinent. Muslims regard the Quran as their holy book and accept the sovereignty of the one God, Allah. Like Hinduism, Islam was interpreted in a variety of ways by its followers.
