our cab driver took us to the Elephant camp. It was a great and unique experience. Even though we felt little nervous while climbing on and settling on the huge seat, later felt very confident and comfortable. Again the beginning few steps of the elephant was strange experience. The elephant ride was through a small stretch of spice garden with heavy greenery, plants, trees etc. The mahout was very kind enough to take our photographs. He was communicating with the elephant in his own way. It was about 20mins ride and was a worth one for first time riders. It was amazing to see how the elephants are trained for such rides and other laborious works in the forest. But i also felt very bad that we make use of these innocent animals just for the sake of fun and entertainment and making money.

In the famous Japanese folklore ‘The Ashes that made Trees Bloom’, the old farmer is the central character. He is a kind but poor man. He lived with his wife and pet dog Muko. He was a great animal lover. He loved Muko like his own son and fed him with his own fork.
He toiled hard at his farm at the same time he listened patiently to the instructions Muko signalled him. He was also very generous. Whenever his neighbours asked for anything he lent them generously. He was not boastful or greedy. Even after he became rich he remained humble and kind ready to help his neighbours whenever they were in need.

The homes of the ants are called ‘nests’ or ‘anthills’. Each nest has hundreds of little rooms and passages. The queen ant lays eggs in some of the rooms. Other rooms serve as nurseries for the gurbs ( young ants). Some rooms serve as store houses for food. Some rooms serve as reserved quarters for workers or barracks for soldiers. Cleaners also live in the nests.
