Respected Principal,

My family's finance has been severely disrupted. I am in particular concerned about paying the school fees for the next semester. In addition, with the current government restrictions on movements and school closures, FIRST will not be attending school physically in the foreseeable future. Though there are some interactions with teachers through distance learning, the main purpose of going to your esteemed school is unfulfilled. My child failed to receive proper education. This, in turn, has become part-time homeschooling for my child which imposed additional burden on our family. In consideration of this pandemic induced situation, it is with regret that I am seeking the school for assistance in school fees. In particular, I would like to ask the school for a FEES% relief in school fees until the end of the pandemic. I hope to get in touch with you to discuss this matter as soon as possible. I certainly hope that FIRST can continue to study without interruption at your esteemed school and am making plans to cover the school fees after the pandemic. I trust that the relief initiative by the government will provide aid/assistance to the school. I hope to have the opportunity to discuss this issue with you.

An Autobiography of Jawaharlal Nehru 1. In May 1905, when I was fifteen, we set sail for England. Father, Mother and I all went together. On a May day towards the end of the month, we reached London. While I was in the train from Dover to London, I read about the great sea victory at Tushima. I was in high spirits because the very next day happened to be Derby Day and we went to see the race. I remember meeting M.A. Ansari soon after our arrival at London. He was then a smart and clever young man with a record of brilliant academic achievement behind him. He was a surgeon at that time in a hospital in London.

Major teachings of Baba Guru Nanak were as follows:

  • Baba Guru Nanak insisted on the importance of the worship of one true God.
  • He believed that caste, creed or gender was irrelevant in the context of a true liberation from worldly matters.
  • According to him, liberation was not a state of inert bliss but the pursuit of an active life with a strong sense of social commitment.
  • He spread his teaching with a motto of ‘nam, dan, insane’ , which meant right worship, social welfare and purity of conduct.
  • His teachings are now remembered as nam-japna, kirt-karna and vandchhakna, which means worship of god, honest living, and helping or sharing with others.
  • Thus, Baba Guru Nanak promoted the idea of equality..

Early man didn’t know how to make fire. But he must have seen the destructive power of fire. He must have watched lightning and volcanoes. He was afraid of it. What is fire? Fire is, in fact, the result of a chemical reaction. The air has oxygen, while fuels have carbon and hydrogen. When the two combine, energy is released in the form of heat and light. This is what we call fire. Three things are needed to make fire–fuel, oxygen and heat. The common fuels are wood, coal, gas and petrol. Oxygen comes from the air. That is why, when we blow on burning paper, it bursts into flame. Fuel and oxygen do not make fire themselves. They need heat. A lighted match provides that heat. Every fuel begins to burn at a particular temperature.

Early Man and Fire

Early man must have found fire to be dangerous and frightening .Fire must have been a mystery for an early man but it is known today that is a result of chemical reaction. When oxygen present in air combines with carbon and hydrogen present in a fuel, energy is released in from of heat and light and this is what fire is. To make fire fuel, heat and oxygen is needed. Wood, coal, gas are fuel, oxygen is available in air. But to cause fire heat is essential. A piece of paper doesn’t catch fire until that is supplied to it. Every fuel burns at a particular temperature which is also called ‘flash point’ or ‘kindling temperature’.

Fire: A Friend and a Dangerous Enemy

Fire is a boon if is kept under control but can be dangerous if it goes out of control. It is used in our house daily for cooking food, burning candles and so on, but if it goes out of control it  can cause damage to life, houses and even forests. Fire can be controlled by taking away any of the three things required for burning it. It can be stopped immediately by taking away the fuel.

It can also be controlled by cutting the oxygen supply, for this many a times blankets are thrown over burning objects. Another way is to reduce the temperature; this can be done by spraying water which lowers down the temperature. However, water cannot be used to put out electrical fire or an oil fire. Carbon dioxide extinguisher is the best way to control electrical fire.

My dear Jeet,

I am pained to learn from father's letter that your health is growing from bad to worse day by day. He has expressed great anxiety about your health. You must be very careful about your health.

In order to improve your health you must obey the laws of heatlh. In the first place you must take light food. Never over eat yourself. You must not drink water with your food. Take your evening meal three or four hours before going to bed. Secondly, you must take exercise daily. Thirdly, you must brush your teeth arid take a bath daily. Bad teeth bring on indigestion. Fourthly, you must go to bed early and get up early. Fifthly, you must avoid over work because it is harmful to health. Lastly, you must give up smoking. If you observe these rules, your health will improve in a short time. With love and best wishes,

Yours affectionately,
