Cutting: 1. In this method, a portion of stem/root cut of the plant is used.
2. Roots are often placed in moist soil/water till adventitious roots appears.
3. Root cuttings are often treated with hormones like NAA for faster rooting.
Grafting: 1. In this method, the cut plant (scion) is attached to the host (stock).
2. The cambium of scion and stock fuse so that scion has continuous vascular connection for growth.
3. The method is widely adopted in plants where seed germination is difficult.

The main components of foods are carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. These are called nutrients.
Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates are also called energy giving food. It is the main sources of energy. It is made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.
Protein: Protein helps in body growth and repairs the tissues so it is also called body building food. We get protein from milk, eggs, meat, fish and all kinds of pulse.
Fat: Fats are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Butter, ghee, milk, egg-yolk, nuts and cooking oils are the major sources of fat in our food.
Vitamins: Vitamins are complex organic compounds which are essential for the growth and maintenance of our body. It does not provide energy.
Minerals: Minerals are required by our body in very small quantities. Iron, Iodine, calcium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium are common minerals. The sources of these animals are plants and animals.

Diversity is defined as differences in race, heritage, art, architecture, cuisine, customs, beliefs, physical appearance, mental capabilities etc. It is more than just tolerating differences.
Diversity is the product of different geography, culture and history. Diversity mean variety and being different, it is respecting and understanding the varying differences among individuals in society.

Ginning: At maturity, the cotton bolls burst open and the white cotton fibre can be seen. The cotton picked up from the plants has seeds in it. The process of removing cotton seeds from pods is called ginning. Ginning was traditionally done by hand. Now-a-days, machines are used in ginning.

Problems of heavy rains: Heavy rain can lead to floods. The rivers overflow during flood and inundate the surrounding areas. Crops, houses, and livestock are badly affected during flood. Flood even affects the wild animals, e.g. recent floods in Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary.

Villi are small finger-like outgrowths present that help in the process of absorption.
Location: These are found in small intestine.
Function: They increase the surface area for absorption of the digested food. The blood vessels present inside the villi can absorb the nutrients from the digested food.

Threshing: Threshing is used for separating seeds from the harvested stalks.
- Manual Threshing: When the quantity is small, threshing is done manually. Small bundles of the harvested stalks are thrashed on a hard surface. This helps in separating the grains.
- Threshing by Animals: For larger quantities, threshing is done in the traditional way; by using animals. For this, stalks are spread around a pole. Several bullocks are tied to the pole and are made to walk over the harvested stalks. Trampling by hooves of the animals helps in separating grains.
- Threshing Machine: Now-a-days, threshing machines are used for the purpose. It can be powered by either a diesel engine or an electric motor. It helps in saving time and labour.
