Snell’s law is defined as “The ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is a constant, for the light of a given colour and for the given pair of media”. Snell’s law formula is expressed as:
{tex}\frac{sin\;i}{\sin\;r}\;=constant{/tex}
Where i is the angle of incidence and r is the angle of refraction. This constant value is called the refractive index of the second medium with respect to the first.

Energy is the capability of doing work. Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but can be converted from one form to another. Sun is prime source of energy and its energy is converted to different forms . The SI unit of energy is same as that of work, i.e. Joules (J) which is nothing but a term for newton-meter. When a certain amount of force (newton) is applied to a object and it moved certain distance (meters), then the energy applied is said to be Joules (newton-meter).

A torch bulb is made up of spherical glass which is attached to a metallic base. There is a filament inside the bulb. The filament is attached to two wires. One of the wires is attached to the metallic base of the bulb. Another wire is attached to the side of the metallic portion of the bulb. The side of the bulb is the negative pole, while the bottom is the positive pole.
Connecting the torch bulb to the cell: For this, you need to attach the wires to the two ends of the cell. The positive pole of the cell should be connected to the positive terminal of the bulb. Similarly, the negative pole of the cell should be connected to the negative terminal of the bulb.
