No, replacing the fuse with a piece of wire is not a good option because fuse is a wire which melts quickly when excess of current pass through it.Thus Breaking the circuit and preventing the home appliances wire used for replacing the fuse might be of same material but it may pass large amount of current that can damage home appliances
