It is story about a student who live in france and a teacher who teaches French for the past 40 years . In the story , it is shown that a order from berlin , Germany had come that in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine only geman would be taught from then . The villagers came to the French class to pay homage to the French teacher and the French language. The French teacher , M.Hamel regretted that he couldn't give all he had to the students. Franz ,the student regretted for not learning French . M.Hamel wrote 'Vive la France' at the blackboard to encourage the countrymen to hold on their languange and their nation as these are their main identity.
