Ratio = 5:7 Let the common multiple be x Age will be = 5x, 7x After 4 years Hari = 5x+4 Harry= 7x+4 Ratio = 3:4 Hari = 5x+4 3 ——————— = -------- (Cross multiply Harry= 7x+4 4 4(5x+4) = 3(7x+4) 20x+16=21x+12 16-12=21x-20x 4=x Hari's age = 5x = 5×4=20years Harry's age = 7x = 7×4=28years
