    Peasants pay revenue to the britishers through intermediaters as on tht time there was zamindari systm(or land revenue system)...n due to this peasants were badly exploited by zamindars..

    Peasants were given land by Britishers for agriculture but they took crop grown on 1/3 rd of the total land which was occupied by indigo cultivation.
