It is known as the brain of the cell or controller of cell and is spherical in shape darkly stained structure it lies usually in centre in animal cell but in plant cell it is displaced due to development of vacuoles it is normally found in eukaryotic cells.

The nucleus is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Inside its fully enclosed nuclear membrane, it contains the majority of the cell's genetic material. This material is organized as DNA molecules, along with a variety of proteins, to form chromosomes.
