Spermatogenesis •occurs in testis •spermatogonia are found in the lining of seminiferous tubules. •polar bodies are not found •each primary spermatocyte give rise to 4 viable haploids spermatids. Oogenesis •occurs in ovary •oogonia are found in the ovarion follicles. •3 polar bodies are formed. These are non functional and hence degenerate. •Each primary oocyte give rise to only 1 haploid fertilizable ovum.
