The World book Day is observed every year on 23rd of April. The day was started by the UNESCO to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. It is also known as the World Book and Copyright Day or the International Day of the Book. Every year, the United Nations organize educational and cultural events as a celebration of books, publishing, and reading.

The day was first celebrated on 23 April of 1995 and continues to get recognized on that day every year. It was first aimed to promote publishing and copyright but encompasses everything from reading and writing, to literature and drama. Today, more than 100 countries across the world are joining the celebration of the World Book Day Celebrations.
