Viscosity is the magnitude of internal friction in a fluid, as measured by the force per unit area resisting uniform flow.
Viscosity is a fluid's resistance to flow. Water runs through a funnel really quickly because it has very little resistance to flow or Viscosity
The viscosity of a fluid is a measure of its resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress. For liquids it corresponds to the informal concept of thickness for example honey has a much higher viscosity than water.
