LET THE NUMBERS BE 5x and 3x 5x-3x=18 2x=18 x=18/2 x=9 5x=5×9=45 3x=3×9=27 Hence,the numbers are 45 and 27

Take the numbers as 5x and 3x. So, 5x-3x=18 2x=18 (5x-3x=2x) x=18/2 (transposing 2 to RHS) x=9 Thus, the numbers= 5x= 5×9= 45 and 3x = 3×9 = 27.
