Isotopes are the atoms of the same element having the same atomic number but different mass numbers.isotopes of an element differ in the number of neutron in their nuclei. Isobars are the atoms of different element having different atomic number but the same mass number ( or same atomic mass ).

Isobar. Isotopes are atomic structures of same elements having a different mass number/atomic mass. Isobars are different chemical elements having same atomic mass. Atomic numbers of all isotopic forms of a single element are equal
