Nature of water pollution in India - (1) NATURAL SOURCES - some natural phenomenon like earthquake, landslide, flood, acid rain contributes to the water pollution of water sources. (2) HUMAN ACTIVITIES - nowadays water is over exploited by humans,. whether it is mining, industrial or household work. (3) INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES - Major water polluting industries are paper and pulp, textile, chemical industries, ect. Waterwaste from these industries join the main river nd pollute them. (4) AGRICULTURE ACTIVITIES - Extensive use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc indirectly contribute to water pollution. (5) SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES - Religious activities involve disposal of God and Goddesses in water bodies, disposal of dead bodies, and many more things which make our water bodies polluted.
