The last lesson is basically taught us to love our own language as in the story in the beginning franz and other childrens didn't focus on their language or never take it seriously but when the order came from Berlin that only German will be taught in the school of Alsace and Lorraine they all were so sorry and feeling guilty towards their language and always leave it for the other day to learn. For Franz all his books, bag were his old friends now he didn't want to leave it. M. Hamel also added that it was not only a mistake of childrens to not to learn their language it was a mistake of the parents also as they don't want to teach them and the only thing they want is to earn money from their work and said it was of himself(M. Hamel) also as he didn't send children to watering their plants , he didn't send children for fishing when he didn't want to teach. In the end M. Hamel also said that France is the most logical and beautiful language in the world. Our own language is a key of prison which can relieve us from any of the situation. So, in this way this chapter told us to learn our own language so that we can be proud of knowing our own language.
