Hardware is the device which we can touch and see as well. For example - CPU, keyboard, monitor etc. Software is the device which we can only see and cannot touch. For example - MS Powerpoint, MS Notepad, MS Word etc.

hardware is any physical device used in or with your machine and  software is a collection of codes installed onto your computer's hard drive. If hardware is damaged, it is replaced with new one and If software is damaged, its backup copy can be reinstalled. Example of hardware:- Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Printer, CPU, Hard disk, RAM, ROM etc and example of software:- Ms Word, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop, MySQL etc.
